Man I seriously ran out of introductory statements,
like, 6 months ago...But whatever.
Yesterday we had 5 investigators attend
sacrament meeting, which is actually pretty good for our Bogotà area. We also
just received a ton of good references!
Maria Jimenez and her future husband are still
waiting for some documents to get their marriage done with already. We moved
her baptismal date to next week! I really hope they can get it figured out
fast.
We received a great reference from Jonathon
(the less active we are rescuing). Sandra is super interested in the church and
this morning we took her to the chapel to give her a tour. We sang some
¨hymnos¨ and talked about the Sunday meetings. She found the baptismal font and
mentioned that she'd not yet been baptized! My companion and I looked at each other
and I used my telepathic-companion powers to say ¨Elder, we are getting that
date this week For Sure!¨ After the tour she wanted to buy us
food, a good sign, but she offered us coffee... (Uh oh) but no worries, it's
only a minor setback in the Plan of Salvation. We said we didn't like coffee,
and saved the Word of Wisdom lesson for another day. You gotta do these things
in order out here.
So it's been Christmas in Colombia since the
day Halloween ended because they don't know anything about Thanksgiving. The
day passed and I didn't even think about it.
The church is starting to really emphasize on
the missionary opportunities we have throughout the world during this special
time. Church ads and videos are going to be blown into social media like crazy.
We've received little Christmas handout cards with a nativity scene on the front
and they read: ¨He is the Gift¨. The backside directs people to the church
website and to a cool new Christmas video the church has made. I encourage you
to watch that short 2 minute video if you want to be uplifted! Great stuff!
Happy Birthday to one of my Favorite Little
Bro's, the one and only Gabe!
I think that's it... I might be ¨P.S.¨ing this
one.
Love, Elder Z (The 1 in Colombodia)
